FindSomeone closes on 30 November 2026
FindSomeone has confirmed that it will permanently close at midnight on 30 November 2026. Existing members can continue logging in, browsing and messaging until then. FindSomeone also says that profiles, photos and conversations will no longer be accessible through the platform after closure, so members should save anything important beforehand.

FindMyPerson is being built around a simple idea: give New Zealand singles enough useful information to make better introductions, without turning dating into an endless stream of superficial swipes.

Is FindSomeone NZ closing?
Yes. FindSomeone says the service will close permanently at midnight on 30 November 2026. Existing members can continue using it until then.
Why is FindSomeone closing?
FindSomeone says the decision allows Trade Me to focus its energy and resources on other parts of its business that it can continue growing and improving.
Is FindMyPerson affiliated with FindSomeone or Trade Me?
No. FindMyPerson is an independent New Zealand dating community. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to FindSomeone or Trade Me.
When can I register with FindMyPerson?
New member registrations open on 21 September 2026. You can build your profile before matching opens on 1 January 2027.
Can I transfer my FindSomeone profile to FindMyPerson?
No. The two services are independent, so profiles and messages cannot be transferred automatically. You will create a new FindMyPerson profile. FindSomeone advises members to download anything they want to keep before the service closes.
What are the Founding Member benefits?
Complete at least 90% of your FindMyPerson profile before launch and you will qualify for our introductory Founding Member benefits, including free messaging for your first three months.
How will FindMyPerson help me find compatible people?
Profiles are designed around more than age and location. Members can add interests, lifestyle preferences, personality and relationship style information so matching can highlight genuine points of compatibility.
Is FindMyPerson only for New Zealand?
FindMyPerson is being built specifically for people dating in New Zealand, with NZ locations, local support and a community designed around New Zealand members.
